not so lazy saturdays.

the weather is progressively becoming nicer. i spent my day doing my study outside, sitting on an exercise ball. i didn't get alot done, because i was distracted by everything around me. aphids were running around the flowers, my dogs were pacing back and forth (well one was, my sheep was drowsy from the vet), and it felt like everyone around me was busy doing something. i went riding this afternoon, which was nice. im so unfit, its actually really embarrassing, but im slowly working on fixing that. i hope you are all happy and healthy regardless of where you are :)
note to readers: if anyone is thinking of getting beatles rock band, do it. it is addictive! well, that's if you like the beatles. if you don't....no comment.

sorry! i haven't posted in about a week and i'm a shocking person and i apologise profusely for that! alright, now back to your usual friday night viewing. one of the first blogs i wrote was about my lomography fish eye camera and the fact that the flash died. since then, i have put in my second roll of film (yes, i only got one roll out of it before it died!) and i have slowly been snapping photos in conditions that are flawless, which isn't very often. i got them developed yesterday, and the results actually weren't too bad, well i guess you can judge for yourselves. in life news; i am 10 days away from my exam, and getting very minimal work done! i need to pull out a miracle in this last week and a bit. i will try, because i know afterwards is holidays, summer, icypoles and my swimming pool. now i must be off, there is an essay to be written on 2001: a space odyssey and it simply is not going to write itself!

minimalist vs. pollution.

it seems that everything in the house at the moment is on either end of the spectrum; either completely clean and minimalist or cluttered and dirty. walked past the fridge before, opened it and realised there is nothing inside. then walked past the paper pile collecting on our floor, and i thought to myself 'wow a krispy kreme box, i could go a donut right now'. but seriously, i wondered why everything in the house is so erratic at the moment. almost suits my mood. mum and dad have been complaining that im not talkative and happy enough because im stressed. i love them so much, they are actually the best family around. makes me realise how lucky i am to have people who support and love me. if you have people around you who love and support you, go give them a hug, because i know that's what ill be doing tonight; putting aside my study and spending some time with those that i love.

let's talk about biology.

we didn't talk about biology. rather we laughed. all day. it was really bad actually, a day that was meant for solid study for our exam turned into laughter, eating and going bike riding. it was so much more fun than study. it's slowly dawning on me how close the exam is though, or rather, how little study i feel i have done. im not good at study. tasks i can do, but study your on your own. the lack of study now has to be made up for today, which is abhorrent!

the end of an era.

tonight, i watched my life long friend cut up her school uniform, as she is finishing high school for forever in just a few days. now this doesn't include exams, but never again will she go to high school. in twelve months that will be me. i find it amazing, terrifying and so exciting all at the same time. i don't feel ready to go out into the real world, but then again who does!? i am sorry i haven't been posting regularly. it's like my camera and i never see each other any more. i pass it on my way to study or eat or sleep, but that's about all im doing these days. my exam is in less than three weeks. after that its summer holidays and no stress and arts camp. *sigh*, i keep on keeping on.

howdy ma'am.

earlier this month i photographed a friend for his portfolio. this would then aid him in his quest to becoming a world famous model and going forth with his plans of world domination and such. off track. anyway, we went around the city, to small alleys with their renowned melbourne graffiti and took some shots. bought 5 new dvds this week, all of which i have no time to watch because school work is sucking my life like a sponge. this being said, days are getting warmer, summer dresses are coming out of storage and i can see summer just around the corner, making things very bearable.

sunday at the yacht club.

spent my sunday at the yacht club, the kind of yacht club that has members, and all the parking outside of the area is for members only. we had to park away from the club and walk in. you see, were not exactly the kind of family that belongs in a yacht club, mainly because we don't have an expensive psyche. nevertheless, i drank expensive french champagne and saw family i had not seen in quite a while. the food was good, and the weather was superb. the experience didn't leave too sour a taste in my mouth. however, the experience of being back at school and having to put myself back into a work routine is leaving a very unpleasant taste in every facet of my life, but im coping, knowing that i have my handy dandy camera by my side.

recently i was 'employed', if you will, to photograph my best friend in all her glory as she got ready for her birthday party. first she got her makeup, then her hair, and then she looked like bridget bardot. in other news, back at school, and not enjoying it at all.

it's so late, and i go back to school in one more day. i plan to spend that last day of freedom watching movies: dirty dancing, rebel without a cause and ponyo. oh yes, a very lazy and exciting way to spend my last day of holidays. daylight savings time has come in, and it is nice to know the warm weather is coming. onto the photos; these are from a friend's birthday party in which there was lots of champagne and an impressive cake.

street performers.

i find street performers self indulged and sarcastic. i love it. this particular performer was british, and reminded me of hugh grant; highly sarcastic and rather fulsome. i dont think the parents appreciated him swearing when he dropped things or telling one difficult child to shut up, but for those old enough to understand what he was going through, it was fantastic. from one overtly sarcastic individual to the next, he was highly entertaining.

while i was in canberra, i attended the flower festival, also known as floriade. there's tulips and street performers and good food and lots of little kids, and the weather was superb. we went on a ferris wheel and i got a bunch of photos, but here are two. ill put up another post of the street performer next.

recently took a trip to the a.c.t (canberra) to meet with the prime minister about things of grave serious-ness, like global warming and such. friend flew up and we did all the things that tourists do, it was so nice to get away. in other news ive woken up with vestibular neuronitis, so everything is spinning. (been away from home for two days, sorry i couldn't post sooner!)
